3D and Laser-Cut Wooden Letters: Clean Edges, Real Thickness

The relief of our 3D wooden letters comes from real thickness: 18 to 19 mm in solid wood, 3 mm in veneer. On the wall, snap-on spacers add around 1.5 cm of depth and a soft cast shadow, which makes wood 3D letters read beautifully from across a room.

Your letters are cut in-house by CNC with crisp, clean edges, and a chamfered edge is possible for extra depth. You don't choose between laser and router: we use the right tool for each wood. Searching for MDF laser cut letters? Our wooden letters aren't cut from MDF: we use solid Douglas fir, okoumé, hevea or a real-wood veneer. There is no engraving or carved relief inside the letter; the shape itself does the work.

Choose Your Wood: Douglas Fir, Okoumé, Hevea or Oak and Walnut Veneer

We offer four real woods, each with its own character:

• Premium Douglas fir: 19 mm, marked grain and warm honey tone, the rustic look; indoor and sheltered outdoor; up to 4,000 × 2,400 mm; Ultra Adhesive, snap-on spacers, no fixing or magnetic (steel).
• Okoumé wood: 18 mm, warm brown tone; indoor and outdoor, the only wood for exposed outdoor spots; up to 4,000 × 2,400 mm; same four fixings.
• Hevea wood: 18 mm, pale, light-toned wood; indoor only; up to 4,000 × 2,400 mm; same four fixings.
• Plywood (veneer): 3 mm, maple, oak, bamboo or walnut; indoor only; up to 2,000 × 1,200 mm; Ultra Adhesive, snap-on spacers or magnetic (steel).
• MDF or painted wood: not available as cut-out letters; for colour, choose expanded PVC or acrylic.

Thick, chunky wooden letters and block capitals are cut from our 18–19 mm solid woods: solid enough to stand on a shelf with the No fixing option. Thin wooden letters use the 3 mm veneer, light and flat against the wall. For rustic wooden letters for wall decor, Douglas fir is the natural pick. As with any natural material, grain and tone vary from one piece to the next.

Large Wooden Letters for Walls: from 7 cm to 4 m

You choose the size, to the millimetre, from 7 cm high up to 4,000 × 2,400 mm (veneer up to 2,000 × 1,200 mm). That covers small accents through to big wooden letters for wall features and extra large wooden letters for wall spans. If you think in inches, here are quick conversions:

Popular large wooden letters sit at 20 cm, 30 cm, 50 cm or 60 cm high. A simple proportion tip: compare the width of the word with the furniture beneath it, whether a sofa, headboard or console, and leave breathing space on either side. For large wall letters in wood, an SVG file gives the cleanest result, and spacers with the paper template keep a long word perfectly aligned. Extra large means on the wall: these are not giant free-standing letters for the floor.

Natural Wood, or White, Black, Grey and Gold Letters?

Our wooden letters come in the natural colour of the wood: honey Douglas fir, warm brown okoumé, pale hevea, maple, oak, bamboo or dark walnut. Walnut is the darkest wood tone we offer, but it isn't black. We don't paint or stain the letters.

A word in joined-up script is cut in a single piece, with the letters holding each other, which makes script wood letters ideal for a word on the wall. Block capitals give a bolder, more graphic result. The editor offers a wide choice of fonts, including script and handwritten styles.

An interlaced monogram of two or three letters is cut along the silhouette of your file (jpg, png, pdf, svg and more), with a proof by email within 24 business hours. Laser cut monogram letters and large monogram letters follow the same CNC process. For large outdoor monogram letters, choose Okoumé 18 mm, on spacers or Ultra Adhesive. Wooden Letters Outdoors: Okoumé

Okoumé 18 mm is the only wood we rate for exposed outdoor use. Premium Douglas fir 19 mm suits sheltered outdoor spots such as a porch or under a canopy, while hevea and veneer are indoor only. Outside, snap-on spacers are the reference fixing; Ultra Adhesive also grips rough render and brick.

How to Hang Wooden Letters on a Wall

Four fixing options are available, depending on the wood:

• Ultra Adhesive: high-performance double-sided foam, no drilling, suited to rough render or brick; indoor and outdoor.
• Snap-on spacers: hidden fixings about 1.5 cm off the wall for a floating shadow; pre-mounted on the back, with the paper mounting template included; drilling required; minimum 20 × 20 mm.
• No fixing: 18-19 mm letters standing on a shelf or sideboard.
• Magnetic: minimum 20 × 20 mm, steel surfaces only, such as a steel door or partition, not a masonry wall; repositionable, handy for temporary use.

The paper mounting template reproduces the alignment and spacing of your word; it is included with spacers and optional otherwise. Hold it against the wall, check it with a spirit level, then stick or drill. There is no cord or hook, so wooden letters for wall hanging are fixed, not hung.
